"Excuse me sir?"
The old Scotsman looked up.
"Do you know this town well?" Jude inquired.
"Lived here all me life. How c'n I help ye?" The man's accent was thick. He was quite clearly a local.
"I'm looking for the Lalonde's house. Do you know them?"
"Ye don't have to know the Lalonde family to know whare that hoose is. Tha's it up on the hill." He gestured down the street.
Up on the hill at the edge of town rested an elegant manor house.
"Blimey, that's a much bigger house than I expected!" Jude exclaimed, mostly to himself.
The old man nodded slowly.
"Tha is a big hoose."
After admiring it a moment more, Jude came back to himself and said quickly, "Well, thank you for your help. Cheerio!"
